The Ultimate Guide to Self Care & Mindfulness

Introduction: Why is Self-Care Important and What it is?

Why is self-care important?

Self-care is important because it allows us to take care of ourselves and our mental fitness. When we do not take time out for ourselves, we can become depleted, anxious, and stressed. It is a way for people to recharge their mental batteries and get back on track.

What is self-care?

Self-care can mean different things for different people but can be anything from going outside for a walk or running errands, to getting a haircut or spending some time alone. Self-care can also include thanking oneself or taking a break from work.

Some self-care ideas are:

-Take a break from the day to day and do something that you enjoy. This could be crafting, doing a face mask or even just reading a book.

-Eat healthily and drink lots of water.

-Be intentional with your time – scheduling breaks, making sure to have downtime, and being mindful of your use of technology.

-Get exercise every day – even if it’s just a brisk walk or gardening. I find this one relatively easy because I have three dogs that need daily walking.

-Talk to people about things that are bothering you – whether it’s someone close or a therapist – this will help relieve stress and make the problem seem smaller than it is.

Practising mindfulness is another wonderful way to not only be present but it’s a gentle way to get some you time and counts as self-care.

Mindfulness took me a really long time to get to grips with. I started off using an app called Headspace. It teaches you not to worry about having an unquiet mind and to let your thoughts float by like traffic on a road. Mindfulness is going perfection, it’s more of a personal journey.

Mindfulness Techniques for Happiness and Productivity

Mindfulness is a mental state of awareness and attention to the present moment.

Many people believe that it can help you live more happily and productively.

This blog post will hopefully give you some mindfulness techniques that you can try out, so you can find out for yourself if mindfulness works for you.

Cultivate an attitude of gratitude: Gratitude is a powerful emotion. Cultivating gratitude can make us feel better about ourselves and our lives, according to Gretchen Rubin, author of “The Happiness Project”. So instead of focusing on what we don’t have, we should spend time thinking about what we do have in our lives that’s good. We should also express gratitude by telling the person who has done something good for us how much they’ve helped us.

I hope you’ve found this helpful. Happy mindful practising. You can see more of my lifestyle posts here.
